The Basingstoke & Reading Association of Social Sailors & Yachtsmen are an informal group of people who have a mutual interest in sailing. The group began in 2002 when a number of people who studied sailing at Basingstoke College of Technology and Reading Adult & Community College decided to charter two boats for a channel crossing. Since that first trip we have repeated the experience every year during the Bank Holiday in May. We also to meet on a monthly basis to swap stories and plan sailing trips. The trips now include many people who own their own boats and want to take a channel trip but are unsure about going alone. We are now planning our next summer cruise for May/June 2011.
